Glory Babies began in January 2001, in Tyler, Texas. It is a support group for those struggling with infertility and/or the loss of a baby during pregnancy or infancy.

The dream of building a special place to celebrate the lives of children began in October 2001. The dream later became known as The Children’s Park.

The Children Are a Gift Foundation was created as an umbrella organization, encompassing both Glory Babies and The Children's Park. It allowed for donors to make contributions and receive the tax benefit from a non-profit organization.

The heart of the Children Are a Gift Foundation is to celebrate the lives of all children, which includes children who are no longer with us and children with special needs. When you lose a child (or the dreams for your child), you are in a sense thrown into captivity. People don't know what to say or they say the wrong thing. As parents, you feel like people have forgotten or no longer care.

We not only want to remember these precious children, but also increase awareness and educate others to the fact that although our children may not live with us (or be who we had hoped they would be), they are still and always will be a very big part of our day to day lives. We want their names to be mentioned and we want them to be remembered.

As an organization, we strive to provide ways that family and friends can remember and celebrate the lives of their children.
